Description

LEVOMAX is indicated in adults for the treatment of the following infections:

Acute bacterial sinusitis.

Acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.

Community-acquired pneumonia (second-line).

For the infections listed above, LEVOMAX should only be used when antibiotics recommended for initial treatment of these infections are considered inappropriate.

Chronic bacterial prostatitis.

Anthrax: post-exposure prophylaxis and curative treatment.

LEVOMAX may also be used as a follow-up to initial intravenous levofloxacin therapy in patients who have shown improvement.

Consideration should be given to official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents.
