Description
Hypercholesterolaemia ATROVAST is indicated as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated total cholesterol (TL), LDL cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B and triglycerides in adults, adolescents and children aged 10 years and older with primary hypercholesterolaemia including familial (heterozygous) hypercholesterolaemia or mixed hyperlipidaemia (corresponding to Fredrickson types IIa and IIb) when the response to diet or other non-pharmacological treatments is inadequate. ATROVAST is also indicated to reduce TL and LDL-C levels in adults with homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering therapies (including LDL apheresis) or when such therapies are unavailable. Prevention of cardiovascular diseases Prevention of cardiovascular events in adult patients at high risk of having a first cardiovascular event, in addition to the correction of other risk factors.
