They are based on the antiparasitic and antibacterial activity of metronidazole and its pharmacokinetic characteristics. They take into account both the clinical studies that have been conducted on this drug and its place in the range of currently available anti-infective products. They are limited to infections due to germs defined as sensitive: – amoebiasis; – urogenital trichomoniasis; – non-specific vaginitis; – lambliasis; – curative treatment of medical-surgical infections with sensitive anaerobic germs; – relay of curative treatments by injectable route of infections with sensitive anaerobic germs. It is appropriate to take into account the official recommendations concerning the appropriate use of antibacterial
